Crochet an exponential function

This is an activity for those of you are able to crochet or knit and would like to try something special.

Exponential functions are functions which describe free, unrestrained growth. They are functions which grow very, very quickly. They can double in size in a fixed time. And you can also crochet one!

Start by crocheting a circle and double the number of stitches each time you start a new circle. So the first circle would have 8 stitches, the second 16, then 32, then 64, then 128, and so on. The whole thing grows extremely quickly and starts to fold in on itself. You end up with an object that makes a great juggling ball.

Here you can find the exact instructions for those who know how to crochet.
